The Liberty Fabrics Classics collection started in 1979, created to champion the most well-known and iconic designs from the Liberty archive all year around. Unlike our seasonal, trend-driven collections, the Classics are kept permanently available, offering a curated selection of heritage designs. This season, we celebrate the collection’s 40th anniversary by selecting the 15 most popular designs from across the past four decades, offered in 40 new and recoloured editions.
First printed by Liberty Fabrics in 1978, Capel was inspired by a vintage style of Liberty floral dating from the 1930s. A small, loosely-drawn design with an all-over repeat, it has been part of the Classics collection since 1993.
