This is a super easy shawl to make. Linen stitch is a lovely stitch to use, the pattern it makes changes depending on how you stripe the yarn, if, like in this shawl you change colour on every row you get vertical stripes. To give it a pop of colour we have added some Pink (Bubblegum) stripes and also used it in the flower edging. If you would like something a bit simpler a picot edging would look great too. This kit is suitable for those with a little crochet under their belt, or those looking for a good project.
The Kit Contains:
- Plump DK yarn, 3 skeins of Blueberry Muffin, 3 skeins of the Pavlova and 2 skeins of Bubblegum
- The all important instructions.
You will need: 4.0mm crochet hook. NB. if you are quite a loose crocheter you may want to use a 4.5mm hook.
Yarn Content: 80% ethically sourced superfine merino and 20% baby alpaca
Care:
Mrs Moon yarn is made from the highest quality superfine merino and baby alpaca. These really are special and luxurious fibres and should be treated carefully! Having said that both yarns are suitable for delicate hand washing. Use a specialist detergent and do not agitate or twist the fibres to retain the gorgeous softness and shape of your garment.
Shedding: Because of the roving nature of Mrs Moon yarns (they are single ply, rather than tightly twisted), some shedding may occur. The best way to deal with this is spray your finished garment with water and leave to dry flat, naturally before the first wearing. This sets the fibres and should stop any problems.
Using your yarn: This yarn comes in skeins, so before using it you need to wind the skein into a ball, or you will get into an awful tangled mess!
Ethical Provenance of Mrs Moon Yarns: The tops are from non-mulesed Merino sheep from ethical farms, all the wool is shorn and not a bi-product of the animal skin industry as the sheep are kept for wool production alone. The alpaca is also shorn, the animals being kept for fibre production only.
