Join us for an absolute beginners' six-week knitting course here at Clothkits! This engaging course will expertly guide you through a variety of stitches and techniques, allowing you to create a beautiful blanket square by square, week by week. If you’re looking for a smaller project, you can also choose to make a stylish cushion.
Throughout the course, you will learn essential skills, including reading patterns, casting on, knitting, purling, creating stripes, working with moss stitch and cables, picking up stitches, casting off, sewing, and finishing your projects, along with much more!
The next course will start at 2pm on Friday 28th February and run for 6 consecutive weeks.
Class Content:
For this course, you will be using West Yorkshire Spinners ColourLab Aran yarn, which is available for purchase at Clothkits. ColourLab Aran is made from 100% British wool, making it warm, breathable, and machine washable.
About Your Teacher: Susan, otherwise know locally as the Knitting Guru has a wealth of knitting experience which spans the decades. At the age of 5 Susan started out on her knitting journey with the love and guidance of her beloved grandmother. By the time she was 17 she had been chosen to knit for Jeff Banks and in the mid eighties many of her creations were shown on BBC's The Clothes Show. More recently Susan helps and guides many keen knitters to develop their knitting skills, offering one 2 one tuition in and around Chichester.
Class Size: Maximum class size of 6
Skills: Ideal for complete beginners
Materials: To complete the entire blanket, you will need 5 to 6 balls of yarn in three different colours. You will be using 5mm knitting needles, both of which will be available for purchase on the first day with a 10% discount.

The workshop is held in our modern and vibrant studio at the Clothkits shop. We are located in central Chichester, about a 10 minute walk from the train and bus station. The closest car park is The Cattle Market.
