Our Clothkits studio in Chichester hosts a welcoming programme of sewing workshops and creative craft classes designed for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced makers. With decades of sewing expertise behind us, our workshops are carefully designed to help you learn practical skills, enjoy the process of making and leave with something you’ve created yourself.

If you’re just starting out, our Learn to Sew workshop is the perfect introduction. You’ll become familiar with the sewing machine, master essential techniques and gain the confidence to begin your own projects, all in a relaxed and supportive environment guided by knowledgeable tutors.

For those with a little more experience, our Sewing Bee sessions offer the chance to refine your dressmaking skills, troubleshoot tricky techniques and enjoy sewing alongside other enthusiastic makers. Alongside these core classes, we regularly host specialist workshops including embroidery, visible mending and creative textile techniques, celebrating traditional skills and thoughtful, sustainable making.

You’ll also find knitting and crochet workshops for yarn lovers, as well as much-loved creative sessions such as lampshade making, where you can craft a beautiful piece for your home. Whether you’re learning something new or enjoying time to make, our workshops offer a friendly and inspiring space to get creative.

5-STAR REVIEWS!

After years of wishing I could sew I decided to make a change by attending the Beginners Sewing Course. I LOVED IT. I experienced many mistakes but by having Maria, the expert tutor, on hand I learned loads. I ended up with a lovely Tote bag that looks snazzy. I experienced the joy that so many sewers talk about when they have sat down and produced an item from just a few scraps of material. Well worth giving it a go. I will make a few more items on my own sewing machine then sign up for another course soon.

For most of our workshops, everything is ready and waiting for you. We have a fleet of Janome sewing machines and all the usual sewing tools available to use in the studio, so there’s no need to bring your own unless you’d like to.
