    Description

This much requested and fun class is suitable for both beginners and more experienced makers alike. The pattern is designed for stretchy fabrics, therefore you will learn the necessary techniques to work with this fabric and construct a pair of underwear using a regular sewing machine.

There will be three different designs to choose from (from biggest to smallest variety) and at least three different elastic insertion methods. You will be guided through cutting your pattern and fabric accurately, sewing with knit fabrics and completing a pair of your future favourite knickers!

Included in the class is the pattern with detailed instructions for sizes 4-24UK which get to take home and hopefully use again and again.

    About your Teacher:

Dhurata Davies is a dressmaker, pattern designer, sewing tutor and a wiz with all things fabric and fibre. She has been sewing and designing women's and children's clothing since she was very young and has always loved giving function and purpose to a piece of fabric (or a ball of yarn)! She designs and makes unique but simple and practical everyday items that are meant to be enjoyed for much longer than the latest fashion. True to her nature, her classes are very informal and fun with plenty of sewing tips and tricks from a lifetime of experience.

    Class Size:

    Maximum class size of 6.

    Skills:

The pattern is suitable for confident beginners and experienced sewists alike. No experience with stretch fabric is necessary as this will be part of the lesson.

    Materials:

Light to medium weight jersey fabric with at least 20% stretch and good recovery.

    Course Duration:

    Half a day

    Venue:

The workshop is held in a bright and airy venue four minute's walk from our Clothkits shop. We will rendezvous on day one at Clothkits to collect any supplies needed and then take the short walk to the venue.  Clothkits shop is located in central Chichester, about a 10 minute walk from the train and bus station. The closest car park is The Cattle Market.
