I fell in love with the Follow the Light fabric from Liberty Fabrics the moment I laid eyes on it! The Beatrix Maxi is just the right pattern to really show off the luxurious Belgravia Silk. It was a bit of a challenge to sew, but hey, I love a challenge!
When sewing the Beatrix pattern, it's crucial to achieve a perfect fit, so I highly recommend making a toile first.Â
The bodice features bust darts and shoulder darts that need to be fitted carefully. Since there are no fastenings on the dress, avoid making the bodice too tight - it should be comfortable to put on and take off.
I read a few reviews that said the v-neck was very low, but I personally didn't have an issue. However, if you're more well-endowed in the boob department, you might want to make some adjustments!
I'm 5'10" with a long torso, so I had to add some length to the bodice and the skirt. But the sleeves were already long, so they were just right!
