A complete dressmaking kit to sew Birgitta Helmersson's incredible Zero Waste Gather Dress. Zero waste pattern cutting is a bit like a puzzle and is a great project for experienced dressmakers or those who love a challenge! The ZW method of pattern drafting utilises a length of fabric end to end by strategically planning the pattern pieces so that everything is used . . . meaning there is NO fabric waste. It's amazing and really very clever.
The Gather Dress is an oversized dress with a dropped shoulder, gathered skirt, side pockets and a full length button placket with buttons and button holes. The kit includes a gorgeous soft gingham double gauze cloth which is double sided so you can play with using the different sized checks.
This pattern does not include large pattern pieces, instead, you draw your pattern pieces directly onto your fabric with the aid of a cutting plan and templates.
The kit includes:
- Fabric
- Cotton buttons
- Matching thread
- The instructions, size guide and templates.
Ability: Intermediate
This is a very different method from regular dressmaking. You will need to put on your mathematical head! Once you get your head around it, it is a really fun way of dressmaking.
Sizing: This is an oversized ONE SIZE style which is suitable for a bust measurement of up to 155cm / 61".
